Hello, my name is Carrie Jere. My educational background is in chemical engineering from Michigan State University, where I graduated in 1999. I worked in the steel industry for 12 years, living Downriver in Wyandotte for most of that time. Once married I began a career in massage therapy, graduating from Ann Arbor Institute of Massage Therapy in 2012, and have enjoyed my employment with Fran Coy Salon and Spa since then.
Growing up in northeastern Michigan, music has always been a big part of my life, participating in choirs in my youth, throughout elementary and high school. In 2008 I moved to Saline and soon after joined the St. Andrew parish family. I was married at St. Andrew in 2011, and sometime after, around having two children, I joined the St. Andrew Adult Choir. I’ve also enjoyed learning and playing the bells in the St. Andrew Bell Choir since 2018. I was blessed to learn to play acoustic guitar from my Dad as a child, and have sang and played for some family and friends’ weddings, and also my daughter’s baptism here at St. Andrew. And now in 2019, I am grateful for the opportunity to teach our children to love music and prayer as Director of the St. Andrew’s Children’s Choir.
