The Core Team for St. Andrew EDGE/Confirmation is a group of adults who collaborate with the K-8 Faith Formation Director to run the Middlel School EDGE and Confirmation Program on Sunday evenings from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm. Outside of a few behind the scenes support, the primary role of any Core Team Member is to accompany and mentor teens in their journey of Christian discipleship. If working with 8th graders, the role would also entail the preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation which takes place late spring each year. Each week there are specific roles that we need filled in order to run a smooth EDGE/Confirmation night. We are currently looking to fill the following roles: MC: In Coordination with the Faith Formation Director this role entrails welcome teens and adults, provide weekly announcements, intorduce the theme, help keep the night moving along. CORE Team Small Group Leaders: These team members are insturmental in facilitatiing the lessons each week to a small group of teens about 6-8 teens. These groupings are homogenous according to grade and gender and will include a High School Big Fish to support the discussions and activities within the small group. The lessons are written out for each small group and emailed early in the week to keep your preparation at a minimum. Assistant CORE Team Leaders: You will work directly with the Small Group Leader to lead a group students through the EDGE evening. Training is provided. This is a great way to find out what your student is learning and be part of their experience. You can choose to be assigned to your child's group or to a group other than your own child's group. Food Support Team: The teens will tell you that the best part of the night is the food! We like serve a variety of hot and cold food each night that is supplied by the parents. We use a sign up genius system to keep track of what food is needed and supplies each week. The sign up goes out along with the weekly notes to parents each week. 2 people to set up and clean up (6:15 pm - 7:15 pm) It takes about 4-6 people to run this committee to keep the commitment to once a month Behind the scenes planning for retreats is helpful too!
