Welcome to Confirmation at St. Andrew Catholic Church
We are glad you found us! You are welcome here....
On the right side of your screen you will find all the information needed for this year. We will provide the students with binders and hard copies,
but if you want to see what is expected, feel free to peruse the information to the right.
Our mission is to create disciples of Jesus Christ who are prepared to begin their lifelong journey toward holiness. We will journey together through fellowship, small group discussion, prayer, praise and worship during our weekly EDGE nights. Our EDGE/Confimation leaders are commited to providing all who attend our program an opportunity to encounter Christ through various means including Bible reading and reflection, discussion, meditation, adoration in front of the Blessed Sacrament, Mass, retreats, service opportunities and more.
What Confirmation is NOT.... it is not a class you graduate from, or a 24 week extra curricular class, it is not a series of check boxes
What Confirmation is..... it is a journey .... a lifelong journey that does not end - as the Cathecism of the Catholic Church states: This journey began at Baptism and together with Eucharist consitute the "scaraments of Christian initiation" whose unity must be safeguarded.... Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace. What this means is that "by the sacrament of Confirmaiton, we (the baptized) are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strengh of the Holy Spirit." CCC 1285
We will be using resources from LifeTeen's confirmation resource program called PURPOSE to hlep guide and prepare our youth toward the sacrament of Confirmaiton. This is a brand new highly enriching program that will dive into the 3 main topics:
Blessings,
Janet
