Children Coming to Christ
Let’s Start Anew
Kelly's Story of Returning to the Catholic Church...
Daily Life has a way of getting in the way of my hopes & goals & relationships. In past years, my perceptions have gotten in the way of my relationship with the Church. Anger, hurt & misunderstandings of her teachings and her members kept me away for a decade. This was a very painful time in my life. The only relief I found was in my time with God. I spoke with Him everyday. I longed to receive the sacraments. I prayed to understand my fear of returning, my fear of rejection, my fear of judgement. Through our Lord, I found grace & hope & peace in my daily life. And for a long time, that was enough.
But then came a child; a beautiful child granted to me by God. When she was born, I remembered & understood all that my Grandmother showed me about God & church during our short time together. I understood that this child’s soul was much more important than my fears; my pain. She needed to be baptized. I had to go to the church.
What did I experience when I went to see the Priest? He gave me the gifts of compassion and welcome. There was no judgement in his eyes or voice. In fact, not only did he reassure me that she would be baptized, but that it was very important for me to be forgiven to the deepest depths of my soul. He also wanted to be sure my secular marriage was made sacramental. So he prayed with me and put forth requests to the Bishop of Toledo on my behalf. I came for my daughter’s soul and left with my family’s reconciliation with the Church. I could return to the sacraments without guilt, without doubt, in a state of grace. And so I did. God granted my petitions and I said yes. It was the greatest leap of trust I have ever encountered.
Have You been away from the church for a while? Like me, do you need a COMPLETELY judgment FREE environment in order to return to Mass? Let our parish family welcome your family back. Let’s get your children caught up on their faith formation and receive their sacraments through our Children Coming to Christ program.
Children Coming to Christ may be the perfect fit for your family. We focus our lessons on the Church teachings of Kerygma: God Loves You; God Saves You.
We meet weekly on Sundays DURING 9:00 AM Mass.
Yes, all year. How many weeks or months depends on your child's needs.
Personalized schedules are available and even encouraged.
Blessings to You & Yours,
~ Kelly

Journey with God
Holidays, vacations & 3-day weekends are important opportunities to relax, rejuvenate, & play. Just be sure to take God with you. He is a great traveling companion. One of the best things about the Catholic Church, is you will have a relatively easy time finding a Mass when you are away from Saline. Because the Catholic Mass is Universal, you’ll have a similar experience at whichever Catholic Church you visit. Masses can easily be found on the web.
We ask all of our families to participate in this journey.
Personalized Journey
God has placed every one of us on a different journey. He didn’t make us to so we could fit into a strict American school schedule. He created us to love Him & each other. He recognizes the challenges that come with illness, household emergencies and single parent work schedules. So if you find your family’s journey contains many curves & bends, we will work with you to design a plan for your family. Should your child be ready to receive a sacrament, the celebration will occur after he or she is prepared. Please schedule an appointment with
Janet Cook, Director of K-8 Religious Formation, or Kelly Saiya-Cork, Catechist,
to discuss this option.
